Free Flooring Calculator Widget
The embedded Flooring Calculator takes one or more room measurements, leaves out islands or closets, and returns the boxes of flooring to buy (or square yards of carpet) with waste for the layout pattern, plus underlayment rolls, trim pieces and a cost. Visitors can enter their own prices. It suits flooring stores, remodeling contractors and home-renovation blogs.
It's a single iframe plus a one-line credit link — free, responsive, no registration, and no ads or tracking scripts on your page.

Credit line included
The code ends with a one-line credit under the calculator: “Flooring Calculator by Build Material Planner”, linking to the full calculator. Please keep it. It's what keeps these calculators free to build and maintain, and it helps other people find them.
Where the Flooring Calculator widget fits
- A flooring store's product or "measure your room" page
- A "how much flooring do I need" or LVP vs. laminate article
- A flooring installer's estimate request page
How to add it to your site
- Plain HTML: paste the snippet where you want the calculator to appear.
- WordPress: add a “Custom HTML” block and paste the snippet in. Avoid the “Paragraph” block — it strips iframes.
- Squarespace / Wix / Webflow: add an “Embed” or “Custom Code” / “HTML” element and paste the snippet.
- The second line (
embed.js) is optional — it just auto-sizes the frame height. You only need it once per page even with several calculators.
Sizing & responsiveness
Set the width to 100% to fill the column it sits in, or a fixed pixel value for a sidebar or narrow layout. Height is handled for you: with embed.js the frame grows and shrinks to fit the calculator (including after someone runs an estimate); without it, the frame stays at 1250px and everything still works, just with an inner scrollbar on small screens.
Questions from site owners
Is it really free? Any catch?
Yes, free. No account, no API key, no usage limits, and no ads or tracking added to your page. The embed code ends with a one-line credit link back to the calculator; please keep it, as it is what keeps these calculators free.
Will it slow my page down or track my visitors?
No. The calculator loads in an iframe so it never blocks your page, it ships no third-party ad or analytics scripts onto your site, and it sets no cookies on your visitors. The optional resizer script is a few KB and loads asynchronously.
Does it handle more than one room?
Yes. Visitors add a row per room (or per rectangle of an L-shaped room) and can subtract areas like a kitchen island, so the box count covers the whole job.
Which flooring types does it cover?
Luxury vinyl plank, laminate and hardwood or engineered wood by the box, using the coverage from the product label, and carpet by the square yard with roll width.
Can visitors use metric measurements?
Yes. A units switch takes room sizes in meters and box coverage in square meters, and gives the same box counts as the imperial version.
